Jobs in Australia
I was surprised to see this advertisement in the Gulf News yesterday:

Some of the jobs eg, Sales Manager don’t need years of university training. Australia is encouraging people to immigrate when we have masses of people unemployed. Surely the sales and marketing industry is sufficiently large to promote a few retail assistants into sales managers.
As for the remainder, all are highly specialised jobs. However, I’m sure there must be people who, with sufficient short-term support (eg, for travel costs, books, enrolment fees etc) could upskill into these jobs. The cost to government in the short term would be high, but they would more than recover the cost in the long term by getting someone off the long term welfare nipple and transferring them into tax-paying, productive members of society.
What do you think?
